What we hold about you as a host, why we hold it, and what you must do with the attendee data we give you. Written in plain English.
This covers your host account. If you also attend gatherings, your attendee data is covered by the Organizer Agreement's counterpart on the main site.
To open an account — your phone number and the name you put on your gatherings. Nothing else is required, and nothing below is collected unless you choose to charge for tickets.
Only if you sell tickets, so that we can pay you and meet our tax obligations:
Whatever you add yourself — a logo, a description, a website or Instagram handle. These are public on your host page, and that is their purpose.
Your PAN, ID and bank details are never shown on your public page and are never shared with attendees. Inside openCT they are visible only to the compliance team who verify them and the finance team who pay you.
When someone books your gathering you receive their name, contact details and their booking. You need it to run the event — and it is their personal data, not yours.
Misusing attendee data is grounds for us to suspend a host account.
Verification and payment records are kept while your account is open and afterwards for as long as accounting and tax rules require, because settlements have to be auditable.
If you close your host account, your public page stops being visible and you stop appearing as a host. We keep the underlying record — bookings, settlements and tax documents are attached to it. If you want that record removed as well, email support@openct.co and we will handle it individually.
Anything about your data, your documents or a settlement: support@openct.co. A person answers.
